Worth it to fix up a broken Powerbook G4?

I have a Powerbook G4 that was all busted up. Battery is dead and the screen is either broken or the power wires are ripped.

I can get a battery for $40 bucks and a screen for about $40 off ebay.

What do you think? Anyone have a broken G4 with those parts left?

It is hard to say without knowing the speed of the PowerBook and how it is configured (RAM, HD, Screen size). And of course, what do you plan to do with it when it is working?

Well, it will run Tiger no problem, but no Leopard. Matlab should be ok on that, but personally i prefer matlab on windows since last i heard, they still required you to install X11 and run it that way... i never did get it working right.
