I currently own a 2005 Legacy GT Limited with 40k miles on it. I paid $19,750 for it 2 years ago, and I received a letter in the mail from Subaru today about the Guaranteed Trade-In program. According to the letter, I'd receive a minimum of 15,200 if I were to trade it in. I owe 10k on the car, which has 3 years of financing left. I don't really put a lot of mileage on the car I have now (less than 10k a year), so I'm debating whether to take advantage of the offer. What do you guys think? Is it worth stepping up to a 2008 Legacy GT?

What does an 08 cost? and why re-ride down the depreciation curve?

list price is 30k, but usually they'll go for 27-28k off the lot.

That means you gotta pony up 13k or grow your loan - I wouldn't do it - cars are fun but not an investment - at least not in this case - and what already have is a sweet ride...

Personally I like the styling of the 05-06 rather than the 08. However in 07 they added 60/40 folding rear seats instead of the pass-through. Otherwise, functionally, I don't think there's much value other than a fresh warranty. Check http://www.cars101.com/legacy.html for specific MY details

If you are looking at selling, let me know ;)
