Worth getting a $6.99 Officemax Warranty on a Paper Shredder?

OfficeMax had a $99 Paper Shredder on sale for $49, tacked on a $15 coupon to bring it to $35.

They have a $6.99 warranty for 1 year, full replacement if it breaks...

I have bad luck with shredders, they usually only last me 2-3 months. I use half the reccommended max paper per time and i only use it for 10 mins at a time before giving it a rest, yet they always still get jammed up and broken.

Worth it?

i guess i just got lucky...

i was suprised to see newer models that works on chewing up cd's...

Basically just gives me in-store replacement instead of having to deal w/ the manuf.

Sounds like a no-brainer to me, especially since you've had trouble with shredders in the past.

so, it's not 1 yr manufacturer + 1 yr OfficeMax warranty?

i'd say go for it, if you've had that many problems with it.

Dont forget to oil it every now and then. It really helps preventing the jams.
