Worth $150 to be able to overclock?

Hi,
Would you spend $150 to get a mobo (MSI K8N Neo Platinum) that would allow you to overclock your Athlon 64 3000+?

As I have Corsair XMS 3200LL memory I am not sure how successful an overclocking attempt might be as I would probably be forced to run the memory out of sync (not 1:1).

Any suggestions or ideas are appreciated!

You don't need to spend $150 to be able to overclock. Get the Epox EP-8KDA3J nForce-250Gb motherboard. It is a great overclocker and is only $99. It's almost identical to it's more expensive counterpart, the EP-8KDA3+ except that it has less SATA ports and some other minor details that won't really matter. If you want a great overclocking board for cheap, go with the 8KDA3J.

If you dont need gigabit lan or onchip firewall also check out the VNF3-250 which is even cheaper and gives excellent oc'ing

I agree with all these guys. PLUS MSI is in litigation for their junk the pushed off to unsuspecting consumers...leaky capacitors among other things. I would'nt touch MSI dispite what the reviews say.

i spend to much just for overclocking, $180 just for mobo's
overclocking is only worth it if you're an enthusiast, otherwise stock speed should be sufficient in most apps unless your'e doing something intensive/gaming/video editing/etc
