I think the worst song ever was posted on ATOT by some kid that had delusions of grandeur in being a rapper. "Dude...I'm...Soooo...drunk." lyrics or something. 😛

Agree, it's just a decent cover, nothing more. Yea, I've seen that on YT before, totally totally amazing what Godly and Creme accomplished with them layering all those vocal tracks and then looping them to form a 256 voice "chorus". I remember when that came out in '75 (yea, I'm an old fart lOL) and hearing it, Not the usual 1975 fare but one had to admit it was just a beautiful, moving song and that sound, that sound, what was it?. One could tell it wasn't a Moog or a Mellotron, no one had a clue as to how the ethereal backing vocals were done, nothing like it had ever been done before. Both of them went on to produce other artists and were very successful. There's also a documentary on the making of "Dark side of the Moon" with Alan Parsons producing, on the song "Time" they had all these different chimes recorded so all the band members got on the console with Parsons's crew, each working a fader to achieve the end result. Another genius from even earlier was Brian Wilson with "Pet sounds", so influential and talented was Brian that the Beatles even admitted to borrowing some of his techniques for "Sgt Pepper", talk about a tribute!..
 
I love those behind the scenes documentaries, Classic Albums especially. Amazing insight into the minds of some very intelligent musicians. You've probably seen them, but the Aja and the Making of Wish You Were Here docs was excellent.

No, actually I haven't but I will and yea, it's a LOL as to how we got to discussing older music, bands and production methods. IMPO the lack of technology pushed the greatest talent to the top, if you wanted to create a mood, atmosphere, whatever you had to be incredibly creative to do it and I think that will always make it a special time, luckily for us filled with special talent.
