Hmm... I actually haven't seen too many blatantly terrible movies lately.
One that sticks in my mind is "Stay"... pretty fvcking bad.
really? that's the one w/ Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts, right?
it was bad? i was looking foward to seeing that (currently in my netflix queue). I'll probably see it anyway tho. What was so horrible about it?
Yeah, we were looking forward to it as well. Figured it'd be worth a see just for Ewan and Naomi.
But somehow, it managed to defy the cosmos, and presented itself in blashpemous grandeur, as the most miserable movie either one has ever made (IMO). Think a David Lynch movie that's lost it's edge, gone mild, and gone horribly wrong. This whole non-linear storyline has been played and perfected to no end, so when a subject of the genre is presented so poorly this late into the game, you can't help but notice.
Director Marc Forster (who, though talented, dropped several points in my mind as a result of this movie) dissapoints, cheesy camera work, gimmicks exploited to no end. The script is awkward and it seems as if both the actors and the audience can feel it. Dunno, some might enjoy the ride, but I had a hard time sitting through it.
