I expected better from Jack White and Alicia Keys...
Seriously?
Well, they are supposedly talented musicians... Did they compose that while they were high or something. This is not worthy of appearing in a 007 movie.
Even Madonna's sh*t is better.
Please, somebody, give me Garbage and Tina Turner (Gold'n'eye!!!)
just more of the ruining of james bond. after Casino Royale, I don't expect much from a James Bond movie any more.
CR seemed much closer to Bond than any of the Dalton and weak-ass Brosnan movies. Mainly b/c he was more like the Bond in the books: A cold, soulless badass.
I was thinking it might be terrible, but I came away impressed.
it wasn't even how he looked or acted. the movie was just bad. there no story. it was just a complete jumble of nothing that lasted way too long.
I'll give you length, but it was appropriate.
It's called character development. Ever heard of that?
P
robably not, b/c you don't know why the Brosnan and Moore flicks were so fucking terrible in comparison.
wtf kind of dumb ass comment is that? seriously, are you guys delusional?
i liked the previous bond movies, even the brosnan ones (although brosnan wasn't as good as the older guys), better than CR. I just enjoyed them more. I don't know why, i just did.
you guys need to get off your fucking elitist high horses. jesus christ...
my point is that the Brosnan/Moore flicks were lacking in character development/ film plotting. Not to mention the slap-stick ridiculousness and pedophilia of Roger Moore's Bond.
So yeah, if you don't get that out of watching those, then I think you don't have a keen eye for criticism.
whatever happened to watching a movie for entertainment? when did watching a movie, particularly a james bond movie, become about analyzing it and it's characters to death? this isn't some stupid film class or philosophy class. I watch movies for entertainment and CR didn't entertain me while the previous bond films did. i don't see where the hell this has anything to do with me or my character.
entertainment is fine. but again, you shouldn't be forced to accept vomit on celluloid as entertainment. Films don't need to be serious and deep to be good. But there are simple rules regarding plotting, character progression and editing, and a big one: DON'T INSULT YOUR AUDIENCE.
I find a lot of those Bond films entertaining. But when you compare them to others, they aren't nearly as good. The screenplays only made it through b/c of the bond name, and didn't receive the attention they needed.
Again, you keep declaring you know what "Good" means, without giving any explanation.
Not all film
has to be good. Though it is my firm belief that too much stupid film makes people stupid; and overwhelmingly, stupid people love stupid film. More and more evidence for this appears each year.
You keep talking about how you want to take a class that you might enjoy? Take a film class. You'll probably learn to see things you never knew were there before.
Don't hate everything. But be able to accept the good and the bad, and use something more than "I didn't like it" as justification for supposed crap.
There's nothing elitist about a well-trained eye. The charge of elitism is the cry of the ignorant.
Don't be that guy
hey, one of my favorite movies is "Dumb and Dumber,"

Why do I tolerate it? It doesn't pretend to be anything more than it promises.
