Well, i guess technically i wasn't injured, but i got outrageously lucky...

Was working for my dad when i was like 16, I was threading some 1.25" galvanized piping, and was wearing gloves... about thread number 40, my glove decided to catch on the threads, and suddenly my hand was being wrapped backwards and around a 1.25" pipe... as i hobbled around trying to get my foot off of the pedal that makes the machine go, and trying to keep my hand from shattering into millions of pieces, i discovered that my hand was bending further than i thought possible... after finally getting my foot off the pedal, (pedal is enclosed so you dont accidently step on it) i just kept trying to keep up with my hand while the machine slowed... im pretty sure my hand was about to shatter dislocated every finger, destroy my wrist, and every bone in my hand... luckily it didnt... it was just outrageously sore for the rest of the day... 30 minutes of chill time and i went back and finished threading the pipe, without gloves this time.

Right before senior year of high school, during late summer I started working at a beverage warehouse facility. They took orders with local companies for all kinds of different beverages (even some they weren't technically supposed to have, like Red Bull :)).
Us guys on the floor loaded trucks with the cases according to the orders.

I had 3 cases of Everfresh bottles in my hands, the glass kind that I was taking directly to a truck instead of a cart since the truck was 10' away.

Couldn't see anything directly in front of me since the top case was blocking part of my vision, but I was walking down an aisle between palates, so I'd be okay.

Or so I thought. There was some odd metal shingle-like thing, probably a busted piece from inside one of the delivery trucks. My shoelace caught it, held back my next step, and I fell forward.

The cases crashed before I did. Some of them shattered, and my one hand landed right on top of a shattered one.
My left hand just felt odd, mostly like I just landed really hard on my hand after a fall. Until I look down, and at the bottom edge of my palm, kind of in-between the palm and wrist, was a nice sized chunk of glass stuck there.

I just kind of stared at it, intrigued and perplexed. Walked to the office, and showed my boss. He drove me to the nearest emergency room and I ended up getting 9 stitches. Oddly enough, it really didn't begin to hurt until we were well on the way to the hospital.
Couldn't do anything for 2 weeks, since the hands are kind of essential to handling things.
Go back, pick up my check and give some paper work to my boss, and find out I won't be working anymore. Summer months are the bigger season and they'd be cutting back on some employment (kind of like temp. employment for the summer), but I had seen the younger brother of the one kid I went to school with had filled in my spot.
Bastards.

Gah.

Fell off a roof and tore my rotator and had to get that fixed and a mumford at the same time.

Got my hand caught in a handle as I was throwing a garbage can. Had 2 surgeries on that. ( that was doing someone else job )

I was nailing siding on a wall that was laying on the ground and a friend stepped on my nail guns hose joking around. I was moving pretty fast. My feet moved and the gun didn't. I nailed my foot to a wall. I was pretty pissed about that. My boots were brand new.

Meh

November 2008:

Doing a job at a dealership, and accidentally plunged my brand-new pocket knife into my stomach.

Ambulance ride, emergency exploratory surgery, a month of pain. Nice pics of my insides, though.

whatever happened to him?

Got 3rd degree burns over something like 70% of his body. His clothing melted to his skin. Part of the healing process from sever burns is something they call debriding where they have to scrape off all the dead skin. They do this with a wire brush and NO aesthetic!!! And they have to do this multiple times.

you have 2 Operations not surgeries.

An operation is a surgical intervention; any surgical procedure, e.g. one carried out to repair damage to a body part

Surgery is medical procedures involving operations; medical treatment that involves operations on or manipulations of the patient's body and, usually, cutting the body open to perform these

Meh.

The doc said surgery. You can take it up with him.

Well with third degree burns, the nerve endings are all burned away, so it's not like you're going to be feeling anything.
