For me was a HP Pavilion 500 Cely it had 16mb of ram. Upgraded em to 128 then when I was upgrading there comp I noticed the cpu fan was not spinning and so I made sure it was connected. Behold the fan had died. and the Poor cely melted to the heat sink. and it was still working. and they never cleaned the inside of the computer ever. I could not stop sneezing for 45 min.it had at least a 2 inch think layer of dust I ripped out like carpet.
oww and the computer was locked to the furniture and no one new were the key was. so I had to work on it with such little space.

Edit:For got to mention, it had 800 Spyware found and 88 viruses I had to remove.

Just finished the CEO's <added - home> Dell P4 3.2ghz 1gb RAM. 2,000+ Virus's, Trojans, Spyware, and Adware. Sluggish as a Vic20. It is up and running with <knock wood> all virus's etc. removed and a antivirus that will upgrade itself.

it had a turbo button on it. i believe it was a 486 with two 4mb dimms win 3.1 with a custom dead roach inside. it was a compaq that had the monitor integrated with it. I was told to "upgrade" it. heh... ended up making a new computer.

The hardest part was telling them their $3500 computer was nothing but a museum of technological enginuity.

The other side was my cousins computer that had full blown worm infection that i have a screenshot of somewhere. I took a pic when norton hit over 71,000+ infections as well as the assorted spyware infections (cousins are myspace addicts and highly computer illiterate) . Funny thing was I was able to clean it and get it back up to like it was. (did it for the challenges sake)

A large, heavy, dust-filled, cat-feces-smelling, 486 with no reusable parts = junk

The worst one I think I worked on was where it had food a mold growing on the inside of the case. I just threw it away.

I worked on a Dell for someone that was pretty damn dirty. Had red dust everywhere. Same color dust and mud was all over her shoes and her truck as well. I charged her extra for having to physically clean the computer out.

4 (looks like one of those underwater shots of a sunken ship..)

Edit: I've seen several others with dead roaches inside. Makes you wonder what sort of conditions the people are living in.

my grandma olld emachine computer. It had a celeron 1000mhz, 128mb of ram, and like 20gbhdd. Darn thing took forever to bootup. She had all this stupid crap loadup at startup, such mycursor, weatherbug and I forget what else. I put some more memory in it, but that motherboard in there, for some stupid reason didnt like to detect all the memory. So I just built her a somewhat new computer with spare parts I have. Now she has an athlon 3200, 80gb 7200rpm hdd, and 1gb ram

My dad computer is another one. Slower than h*ll. It an 800mhz duron athlon system. I think it had 128mb of ram too. Looked up the motherboard, it said it supported 512mb ram total. SSo went out bought 2 256mb sticks of ram. Install them, boot up computer, When you go into the bios, it'll say 512mb ram, but it would never post all the way through. Some error pop up, and states somethen about the memory being at only 384mb of ram. Contact compaq about it. they were no use.

friend brought me his family eMachine, which his ciggy smoking mom used non stop. I had to pull everything out to clean it, and replace the system board...which definitly died due to the blanket of dust/smoke residue/who knows what else covering everything.

that's still not as bad as a computer I had to repair at a college I worked at. A building had flooded (these buildings are 100+ years old) and there was stuff all over it that had already dried and smelled awful. after I cleaned it the best I could, I was amazed to find that the computer still worked.

I'm sure there's more...just can't think of any now.

An Apple II GS... Took nearly an hour to run a 6 page spellcheck and another hour to print the document.
