Look on the bright side, some people have lost their hair here

Always look on the bright side of life!

All jokes aside, it was a pretty meh Christmas. It seemed to come and go without feeling like it was ever here. I just wasn't feelin' it this year.

My mother in law knows that I'm an atheist, and she knows that I was raised as a Catholic. I got a Bible for Christmas from her. I honestly think that she had positive intentions in mind when she picked this present, but still... <facepalm>

Count me in the group of atheists who got a bible for Christmas from a relative, though it was a few years ago for me. I don't think it was positive intentions in any way. I guess everyone has that one relative who believes in faith healing and not in real medicine, thinks the world will end in 5 years, and loves throwing money at millionaire televangelists and right-wing politicians. So actually the lint remover at age 7 wasn't the worst Christmas present, haha.

I got a bible, too, but it was The Skeptic's Annotated Bible from my wife. :D Bring that book with to your family's next Xmas get together, tell them you'd like to read some passages aloud, then kindly inform them that in this passage god commits his 91st murder, and so on.
