I didn't think the Bronco II was that bad.

the fiero was a good car, except for the fact that it had a tendancy to catch on fire.
Ford is on there thrice! :Q

I missed the RX-2. I guess it was on there for mechanical reasons. My friend at work loved his. Tho, he always mentions how easy it is to rebuild!

The Citroen SM is one of the coolest cars ever made. Maserati V6 mmmmm...

The problem was that the timing chain tensioner was faulty so the engines popped like popcorn. Citroen never admitted that so they made twice as many engines than cars, LOL!

That car sure does look cool. Doesn't that one have the adjustable ground clearance as well? I seem recall seeing that somewhere.

Like all (most) Citroens it has the self adjusting hydro pneumatic systemsion that is the trademark of Citroen. I used to own a newer Citroen with that suspension and it is great. You load up in the back and it self levels.

Whoever made the list has obviously never "met" any of the Russian cars. They'd occupy all ten slots.

Why?

Watch the slideshow. It gives the reasoning behind each car. My aunt had one of those Accords and their description fits my memory of it down to the last letter.

yeah every time i see some aztek in front of me i feel the need to vomit.
Especially if people drive such cars in "nice" colours like yellow..... (of course...makes sense...ugly car and ugly color...what did i expect...)

One of the worst cars....hmm...not in the states....but in Europe: Fiat Ritmo

Where'd the Chevette go? I think it qualifies much more than any Aztec since everyone's gripe about the Aztec is its styling only, not about the car as a whole.

They also forgot the Datsun 210 (I think that was its designation....)....couldn't get out of its own way on the highway, with or without the A/C on, which was questionable that it actually did function.

The thing people don't know is they fixed this issue in the later years. People hear "Fiero" and think "fire" off the bat, but it depends on the model year whether it's a rolling fire hazard, or a fun MR car :)

Yeah the engine fire was only with the 1984 car - the other years were fine. You don't even have to worry about it anymore either - all of the Fieros with the problem were either fixed on the recall or burnt to the ground :D

It's funny to see the teeny-bopper kids recommending the Grand Am and Aztec for the list. No clue about what a bad car is...

From the article:

We wanted a variety of vehicles from around the world, but also a colorful portrait of some of the most memorably bad vehicles in history. We could have picked on manufacturers that just built one bad car after another--there was more than one Yugo, after all--but then we would have ended up with a list of Russian Ladas and so forth.

Hmm. Vega? Check. Pinto? Check. Yugo? Check. Chevette? Hello? Chevette?

Actually, I'm somewhat surprised that the Ford Focus isn't on the list just on the basis of the number of recalls it's had over the past few years.
