1. rear ended a sedan doing about 50mph... that car went airborne and to the right down a hill and into a fence... both cars total loss. I hit my head so hard on the windshield that it spider webbed from one side of the car to the other.

2. Rolled my s10 trying to fish tail on a hard packed dirt road... real smart eh?:)

3. Friend driving lost control on a downhill curve on a dirtroad cause he decided to floor it for no reason at all... at the bottom of this hill some idiot and his girlfriend are having sex in their car... we kinda reverse T-boned them. I was in the back seat opposite the side of the impact... I went flying into the impact side glass breaking it with my head:D

4. Car in front of me turned right at a stop light... I wasnt paying attention and thought the light had turned green so I procided to go straight through a red light... a much larger truck than mine (ranger) drove right up and over the front of it:D

5. Low sided my suzuki sv650 at 50 and slid about 100 feet down a nice and soft grassy hill!

There's lots more but those are the worst...

Put my 1999 Isuzu Rodeo into a jersey barrier at 60+mph. I hit some ice and pivoted 90 degrees left and went head on into the barrier, then the car recoiled did a 180 and smashed into the barrier again with the back end. Airbags went off, stuff was krunked! I got her stopped, opened the door and was ready to run across the road away from the wreckage if a car was coming. The way was clear and I steered it to the shoulder, then got out and checked her over. Drove her at a very very slow pace (required 4-wheel drive) to a reasonable area and waited for my dad to come pick me up.... All I got was a bloody nose, the vehicle was totaled however.

VERY SLOW pics at http://brentman.com:90/www/pic/wreck11703/default.asp

Cheers to be alive and well!

In 1989 my mom was driving our '72 Mercury in Marshall, TX. We pulled out, and our car got hit by a loaded log truck doing 85mph.

I hit my head on the windshield, but other than that I was physically fine.

Zipping down a country road (which seems to be the begining of a number of accidents;)) in a 1990 buick LaSabre when I was 17 I jump on a small rise in the road, bottomed out upon landing and lost control of the car. I skidded broadside down the street a bit before hitting a mailbox w/the rear end, dodging a telephone poll, and dodging a rust fence. Unfortunetly I couldn't dodge the tree. Hit the tree which cause my car to roll onto its roof and skid that way for 20 or 30 feet. The roof collapsed on me and most of the windows blew out. The rearview mirror, while still attached to the windshield, was resting on the dash and the top part of the steering wheel was on the outside of the windshield. When the roof caved in it jammed my head into my neck (if I was an inch taller it probably would have killed or paralyzed me) and the concussion to my head knocked somethin' lose 'cause my eyes became much more sensitive to bright light.

The cop that just happend to come upon the scene on his patrol said he never saw a wreck so bad that didn't have fatalities (my friend and I had a few bumps and bruises but that was it) and he, the cop, specailized in investigating fatal accidents.

I was 12 years old. Was riding my bike to a friend's house, when I started to cross the street. The careless idiot that I am, didn't bother to look both ways before. All of a sudden, I find myself taking a ride on the hood of a car. The driver didn't have time to react because the street I was crossing was at the top of a hill, so his view of was blocked while he was driving up the incline.

He hits the breaks, and I fly off. I land on my ass and roll a few feet. I remember getting up dazed, picking up my bike (the pedals and bar were mangled) and trying to ride away, not knowing what had happened lol. While waiting for the ambulance, I look back at the car and see the cracked windshield where my head had hit. Scary stuff.

Luckily, I didn't suffer any major injuries, just a concussion and a gash where I landed. A few months after the accident, they put up a stop sign where I got hit. :)

1. I was driving my s-15 GMCJimmy (like a blazer). I had just put a 350 in it durring a month of shop classes @ high school. (it was the class project when I blew my 2.8)
I was driving home from school on a 4 lane road (40 speed limit) doing about 45. The road turned to the left with a hill straight on. I had just started the curve when a conversion van slammed into my driverside rear quarter panel causing me to fishtasil and smack into the curb. this flipped my truck and I continued to barrel roll to the bottom of the hill. I rolled 4 times ending up on the passenger side. I asked my passenger if he was alright (which he was because we were both belted in) and then I had him get out of his seat and go out through the hatch in the back because my door would not budge. He used a pry bar that was back there to open the hatch and get out. Thankfully the pry bar did not come to the front of the truck and join us on the foray to the bottom of the hill.

We got out just as 2 people got to the truck who had seen the accident, and there were 3 more cars up at the top of the hill, all with students from my hich school. Me and my passenger threw up our hands and screamed in victory. :) We were none the worse for wear, with only a few scratches from flying glass. The truck was about 2 1/2 feet shorter than it should have been. It gave its life admirably.

I almost killed someone with my Dodge on my lunch break from Home Depot. I was coming home from my lunch. I was in the right hand lane of a 4 lane road. There was a subaru impreza next to me in the left. We were both doing about 50 in a 45. We came to a green light, and I saw something red flash frolm the corner of my eye. A car came through the intersection frolm the left doing about 2x the speed limit (the limit on the side street was 30 IIRC) There was no way in hell I was gonna stop. I turned to the right to go around him, but I knew I was not going to make it, and was just going to take it in the drivers door now.

I stomped on the gas and turned back left in an attempt to spin my truck out of harms way, but it didn't work. They were tearing up the road so it was that groved crap. My truck stuck when I stomped on it, and the drivers side came off the ground. About this time the impreza smashed into the red car a few feet behind the passenger door. I kept on the gas all through this, and ended up leaving rubber from my drivers side tire about 3' up the hood of the red car. My truck fell back on all 4 and I stopped about 200 feet past the intersection and ran back to help the people in the impreza and red car. The peeops in the impreza were just in shock. Their airbags and done their job. The people in the red car were pretty fvcked, but they both lived. If I had hit them, I would have hit them square in the passenger door, and I would have went through that car like a hit knife through butter.

The police took my statement, and I went back to work about 30 minutes late, with my drink from burger king still firmly in the cup holder :p

Was in a car that that rolled onto its top at 60+mph on a twisty 2-lane blacktop, slid upside-down for 100+ feet. Entire right side of the car's top was crushed to the door sill, 2 wheels were broken to the point the tires were no longer on them, sunroof had popped out, both side mirrors were broken off, every window was broken or spider-webbed, there wasn't a single straight body panel left, and the car's frame was bent so badly that the wheels no longer touched the ground when it was put back to right-side up.
Myself and 3 other people miraculously walked away without a scratch.

company ford ranger picking up a big set of blueprints....

Got a bad vibe about the truck and was told they didn't want me messing with it....so I asked for it to be taking to the dealership for a safety inspection esp the brake...told it was done before I started working there.

Going 45mph down a main road towards a red light and the brake pedal fell off, the emergency brake went to the floor (no cable)....that was fun.

Tried to avoid the car as much as I could ahead of me and clipped it on an angle shaving off speed for me and impact but it spun them across two lanes (larger type car)....I used the wall to stop, luckily there was one....I was fine, but I swear plastic was still falling from the sky went I got out....the truck was done and so was their car. It was a mother and daughter from California....looked like white trash, the mom was saying 'kill him...kill him' and the daughter was trying to cut across traffic with a piece of metal or something from their car.....luckily police got on the scene almost instantly or it would have been a mess.

The office manager was fired over the situation....I was not ticketed or hurt(a little bruised where the seat belt hit) but the county/city did something against the company....the people opened a lawsuit against them too....I was never called so I don't know what happened with it. I found a new job shortly afterwards because they didn't fire the idiot right away and everyday he'd have some comment to make about me being careful with the new truck and the final straw I threatened him, walked in to the bosses office told him I was done, and left. A couple days later they called to let me know he was fired that day over it and wanted to know if I'd come back, but I already had a new job.

Was riding my bike down the road with a hockey stick on the handle bar going pretty fast. So I decided to put it in one hand and have one hand on the bar, I lost my balance somehow and crashed. This was 7 years ago, I have a huge scar on my elbow still...Still went to play road hockey though :p

I collided with a deer on my motorbike in the mid 80's. I was thrown into the ditch where I was knocked out cold and almost blead to death from a large gash in my calf muscle. My bike ended up in the ditch with me and nobody even knew I was there. I ended up coming too and staggering back to the curb of the highway to flag down a motorist. The weirdest thing of all is that a huge pile of the deer's guts were in the middle of the road, but no deer carcass to be found. The RCMP looked for the carcass but it was never located. I never owned a bike after that.

Ford Escort, a guy i used to like a while ago, doin 85mph, he decided to pull a handbrake turn thinking it would be funny and scare me, car rolled 8 times and landed upside down against a tree. I dont think ive ever seen something so funny, he wasnt wearing a seatbelt and he jumped straight out the car yelling "Comon!".

Also I fell out a tree that was at least 30ft tall when I was at the top, I landed solid on both legs and sustained a serious sprain (Better than a break ey)

Thankfully I've never been in a serious accident. When I was 16 and like on my 3rd time out driving with my permit, I was rearended at a stoplight. They hit our trailer hitch, so it did no damage to our car (their license plate was dented). Also, I was driving on a very snowy day on 93 in NH between Plymouth and Concord, and slid head on into the snowbank at about 35-40mph. No real damage to the car (dented license plate, torn cv boot). The tow truck had a hard time pulling me out, and the cop that has stopped also got stuck in the snowbank. Needless to say, I learned my lesson. If it is snowing hard, no matter what I have due the next day for homework or whatever can wait until the roads are safe.

Our house in on top of a hill.

A couple of weeks ago, my dad parked his semi by the house. Either he forgot to set the brakes, or the brakes went out, and it rolled down the hill. It didn't roll straight down our lane, of course. It swerved to the left before I saw it, and it was silently rolling straight for my dad, who had his back to the semi as he was walking towards me in the tractor. I frantically started pointing at the semi, and he turned around to see a Mack truck on his ass like stink on sh!t. He got out of the way just in time, it was so close that the semi smacked his hand on the way by. I was relieved that he didn't get run over by the truck, but then I realize that I still have a semi coming towards me (I was sitting in the tractor loading the grain cart). I braced for the impact....

The aftermath

Slid the tractor and grain cart back 3 or 4 feet, and knocked 2 tires off of the rims.

Semi totalled

This is what my dad saw when he turned around.

True story.

I had a call for an accident on I95 at about 3:00AM. We had to pass the accident on the other side of the freeway and come back to it because of the cement dividers on the freeway. We passed it and saw that it was a convertable corvette, upside down, with about 200' of scraped freeway behind it. (from it's sliding upside down)

By the time we circled around to the accident the engine crew was about to peel the door open. They pulled it back and the driver crawls out, nothing but a couple of scratched knuckles. Amazing. I was sure he was going to look like he went through a garlic press after seeing the car and how far it slid upside down.

I was sitting at a red light at a very busy major highway intersection in New York and saw a speeding Dump truck bearing down on me. I knew he wasn't going to be able to stop in time, only thing I could do was throw the car in neutral and brace myself into the back of the seat crouching as low as I could. I remember a feeling of flying but not much else.

When I came to there were people gathering around over me in the car (it was a convertible 1970 Caddy). I was on the other side of the intersection on the right side of the street. Someone asked if I was OK and I said fine, apparently my head hit the steering wheel pretty hard and I had a bump over my eye. I then got out of the car and saw only the back big chrome bumper was mangled up.

NO sign of the Dump truck anywhere.

They said my car went flying through the intersection and amazingly no collisions. I started my car up and went home. Later that day I went to the Junk yard, got a new bumper, put in on and that was it.

Got sideswiped by an SUV ... while riding a Louis Garneau 21-speed.

Still got scars on the left arm and an inch under the chin from that one.
