Worse(er) drivers: women or old people

Whenever I am driving and I end up behind a bad driver, I just have to look at who is in the driver's seat. 99 percent of the time it is either a very old person or a woman. So who are worse? I find that old people drive decent, just very slow. Women drive bad, just plain bad. For example, changing lanes when you are trying to pass them right into you or coming to a complete stop before turning off a road.....

It's pretty close, but I'd say it's the white hairs. Of course there are exceptions. A female friend of mine can drive her Mustang like a pro. She's crazy as hell.

Who are worse drivers? Hmmm... I say most women are but not all. They just don't have the coordination or reflexes to maneuver an automobile very well.

I'd hafta disagree.. Young women are the worst.. like 16-20year-old.. I'm sick of having to slam on the brakes to keep from killing some stupid chick who pulls out right in front of me...

It's totally screwed up that guys' insurance is higher... More and more studies have shown that 16-20y/o female drivers cost insurance companies more money than 16-20y/o male drivers...

Obviously, it?s old women.

Actually, I find it?s middle aged new immigrants who have rarely even seen a private car, let alone driven one. Think of a bad, inexperienced, teenaged driver, and add the fear and sense of mortality that teens lack. Throw in a dash of adult patience (cause they?ll wait a long time to make that turn safely), the fact that they might not quite understand who has the right of way in certain situations, and that they might be lost, and you understand what you?re dealing with here. You?re not getting anywhere very fast.

The worst are those people who think they own the road, feel they're better drivers than others and aren't subject to speed limits, DOUBLE YELLOW LINES, turn signals, or right of way just so they can get to wherever they're going a few seconds faster.

I don't care if the driver is young, old, man, woman, experienced, or inexperienced. If you can't respect *other* people doing the speed limit, pass the "slow" vehicles even with double yellow lines, or don't signal your turns, I hope an accident comes your way. All of this happened while in a 'caravan' of 3 cars and a jeep comes up behind, does all of the following, and pulls into his driveway an entire 8 seconds ahead of me. Yeah...

Old men who wear old-fashioned hats are the worse.

Second, young teenage males who are certain they're great drivers.

I know, it sucks. But if they did make girls higher the femi-nazis would come out and all hell would break loose. The thing I hate is up here at my HS I see these 16 yr old cheerleaders who get a brand new car for their birthday. They got that cell phone up to their ear and are too busy talking in it and to her friend in the seat beside her that she swirves into the other lane and almost causes a wreck. I also see these people who sleep to the last minute and go 130 just to make it to class.

Could you cite the source of those studies? I've never seen that, but if you can point me to them, I'll tell our Driver's Ed. teachers about it.

Followed a guy today for about 10 miles, middle 30's, driving a new Ram Truck with a lift kit and two little hood scoops. He wants to pass everybody, even though traffic was like a rolling traffic jam, so he resorts to going over two and three lanes to get around the cars infront of him. What was so funny is he must of done this six times in the ten miles I followed him, but each time he only got one car further in front then if he hadn't gone to such histronics. So all his troubles netted him was about 100 ft.

Oh, that is so true! I normally drive a motorcycle, so if I'm alert I can steer clear of the 'chicks'. You know what really pisses the cell phone people off? Pickup trucks or motorcycles with VERY loud mufflers and or engines. When I'm in a bad mood, I love driving beside them going the speedlimit with my RPM's cranked up to something like 9-11K.

Definitely old women:( (then young women)
I read a story about this old woman that ran over a lady
in Toronto downtown area.
Witnesses stated victim banged on hood repeatedly
until she was dragged under the car. The old bat dragged this
poor lady for a long way before the body dropped off in her
driveway. A passerby discovered the body and called police.

you guys have to be kidding... YOUNG MEN are the worst drivers. I wonder why insurance rates are so high for young males... gee, could it be because they are statistically more likely to cause accidents? :p:D

haha, sounds like my oldest sister, passing a camper doing about 50 on a deserted stretch of highway is a life threatening major event:confused:
BTW she's not quite middle aged or an immigrant.

I have to agree with Jfur on this one, young men are the worst, they think they know everything and are always right... if they want to do something they will not let some stupid law stop them...

Elderly people should have to get their vision and such checked once every 2 years to make sure that they are able to drive safely...
