Worried probably about nothing, but...

I just got my Enermax psu, volcanoII and ASII and put it all together just now. Everything seems normal but I'm a bit worried about one thing. When I put the sink on the cpu, I had the clamping end of the clip facing me and I couldn't quite get it latched over the lip. I was pulling the sink up towards my self to keep a bit of force off the cpu core but I couldn't get the latch over the clip because of how I was orientated over the sink. I have to turn my puter around 180 degrees to now the latching end was away from me and it was much easer to latch in on because of how my wrist could push on the screw driver. Before I turned it around, I saw that there was alot of force being pushed by the screw driver trying to latch on the clip because the mother board kind of started to bend. I'm worried I might have caused a micro fracture near the core. Also, when I turned the computer around to make it easier to latch on the clip, I was worried that some of the ASII got smeared around which I read is bad. I guess if I'm using the processor right now then everything is fine? And what about the ASII stuff. If I lifted the sink back up just a bit to turn the computer around, did I mess up the layer of ASII that I put on the core? I know these questions are anul but I just worried because the Athlons get so hot and are so fragile. Thanks for any info.

yea i'd say you have nothing to worry about. i'm positive i smeared a little as2, but my computer never runs hotter than 120 with a 1.4 so it can't be that bad.

Ok, I feel somewhat better now :) It's the first time I used this ASII stuff and I followed the directions down to the letter. I was even worried that I didn't use enough. It said to use about half the size of an uncooked race grain. I have to say that the volcanoII that I just got had a really bad thermal tape job on the bottom. It's like they don't use much quality control. I also got a new Enermax PSU (Whisper) VE model with the sensor. It has a sh*t load of extra connectors but there's one that I'm trying to figure out. It looks like 1/4 the size of the atx connector but has the same shape. Is that the connector for the mother board to use the sensor? I did use the 3-pin to 4pin adapter to plug in the power for the sensor but do I also have to plug in that atx connector looking plug-in for the sensor to work? I couldn't find and connection for it on my motherbaord, which is a Gigabyte 7ZX.

that plug you're referring to is for P4 systems

Since you're running an Athlon, just tuck it up somewhere out of the way

Great! I was hoping it wasn't for the sensor. I truly appreciate you guys in this forum :)
