Worried about my best friends health.

I have been knowing this guy for a very long time, about 16 years, and recently its been occuring to me that his health is not that great. He is 22, about 5'10" and maybe 115 lbs, and really does not eat much at all, and the stuff he does eat is usually not healthy. Him and his brother are very skinny, and have been since I have known them.

I started noticing this when one day I noticed that he was puking up a little bit of blood in the toilet after he got done brushing his teeth, and both he and his brother tend to puke when they do forms of extended physical activity.

For instance: one day recently we 3 were helping this guy push start his car up and down the apartment complex. We did this for a little while, and while it was tiring I was fine afterwards, but my best friend was nearly passing out and his brother went puke. Also, when my friend comes home from work he usually goes to sleep for a while cause he is so tired, and he usually gets a full 7-8 hours of sleep.

He was complaning to me and my friends the other night about how he gained a little weight, and that he is 5lbs heavier than his brother. We started laughing at him cause he is so skinny, but I think he is seriously mad abou his slight weight gain.

I wanna help him out, cause I think he really needs to put some muscle on or something. I try to recommend that he take a multi-vitamin every morning since he does not eat much (and what he does eat is usually junk food), but I dont think he does (You can lead a horse to the trough, but cant make him drink comes to mind). I am worried about his health though :( Should I try to get him to come to the gym with me or something?

Weird. That is SKINNY for being that tall.

I'm 6'2" and weight just under 200 lbs.

Yeah I about 6'2" and weigh 165 lbs, but thats cause I dont really lift weights cause the school's weight room is usually packed and I hate waiting to use the benches. I still run, cycle, play b-ball, and use the machines upstairs though. I also do pushups and situps every morning. I have been meaning to get a weight bench for my house though.

I'm 6'4" and 225 or more. Point is...you need some meat on your bones to be healthy. When I was 205, I was pretty lean.

Start taking this guy to the Golden Corral every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and tell us how he's doing.

I would take him to gym with you and make it a fun time type deal where you goof off a little. Point out the fine looking women in spandex. Then go out and eat something, offer to "spot" him if he has reservations about food pricing, goto the smoothie places that have many hidden calories and nutrients. Offset his weight gain issues by pointing out that he's getting stronger from the workout and it must be muscle mass.

but that's just me, I'm an IT nerd.

It's cool that you are worried about your friend. Ask him to go see a soctor and get a physical. Ask him to get the doc to run some blood tests to see if there is anything wrong.
