World's "Greatest" Drag Race - Motor Trend - 2012

The premise of the actual test is Best Driver's Car. The BRZ certainly fits that description from the reviews I've read.

But it just looks ridiculous in this test. The next least powerful car is a Porsche 911 with twice the hp. It's just insanely stupid lining up that car with the rest of them for a quarter mile run. You know the 911 is going to lose too but at least it's a super car of sorts.

Was there ever any doubt that it would finish anywhere other than dead last?

They just wanted to do a sequel to their world's greatest drag race while they had this assortment of cars for the track test . Looks like the BRZ was included as a gag/to show the difference between fast cars/slow ones.

Cannot believe how fast that Lambo is.
The GT-R accelerates like something I'd never seen before, and the Lambo just owns it. Mind you, it has a stupid amt of HP...

I think the AWD gives a huge advantage, all of the cars (except the 200HP BRZ) have enough HP to the rear wheels that it takes some skill to launch without leaving a giant burnout and losing ground. AWD enables the driver to use more HP quicker IMO, a 7 speed tranny doesn't hurt either!.

I came to post this. They could have at least thrown an STi in instead.

Yea, with a 200HP 4cyl and priced at 26-29K it's senseless to have it in there. It may well indeed be a great car against similar cars within it's price range but to put it in a 1/4 mile race against a $379,000 Lambo supercar is just pointless...

Give me the 911 as my daily driver please.

I've seen a couple of vids of the high-end Lambo's and Ferrari's and it looks like it would suck big time to be stuck in traffic in one, the torque converter seems to not move the car until 2K RPM or so, trying to go 20 feet at a time for miles like this would be brutal, gimme an old school clutch for that use..

The 12C kept up real well with the lambo considering it had 100HP less and RWD. Porsche did well against cars with 150HP more.

Why not the 911 TURBO S. That is a stupidly fast car and would have been a contender - at least with the GTR
