what's the veyron coutn as (and what's it's absolute top speed)?

isn't veyron one of a kind?
they're not producing it to sell to the consumers

No, you can buy a Veyron if you have $1.2M. It has a 1001hp, quad-turbo V12.

as for the article:

the top speed has not been confirmed...ill believe it when i see it. anybody can estimate a top speed, lets see them actually take that thing to 258mph...

when a car is unstable on a track, i doubt it can make it to that speed.
if anyone saw the top gear episode you know what im talking about

The car with the Top Gear spoiler clocked the fastest time on the Top Gear track. A lot more steady.

It's just a shame that Koenigsegg needed top gear to tell them that their car needs more downforce. But indeed it is a fast car, pwr to weight ratio is amazing.

They're Swedes. By nature, cars are foreign to them. And this is what, their second car? I'd say one minor little blip like that, fixable with a single piece of carbon fiber in a span of a couple weeks is pretty ******' good.

Yeah, a little known fact, Volvo's and Saab's dont actually come from Sweeden, they come from the pigmy country way up in the north.

That country is called america

So, er, where are the majority of those models actually built?

From your links:

Saab produced almost 128,000 cars last year. Swedish production facilities are located in Trollhttan (Saab's headquarters) for the 9-3 and 9-5 models, Sdertlje (engines) and Gothenburg (transmissions). In addition, the 9-3 Convertible is assembled at Valmet Automotive in Uusikaupunki, Finland.

Volvo Cars are made in Gothenburg, Sweden.

Not everyone wants to get from a standstill to a 1/4 mile and ignore everything else. I'm sure you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between 8 and a 9second time.

This car handles very well from the things I have read.

The Koenigsegg would absolutely destroy the Carrera GT. One of the people driving it at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway drove his Carrera GT there. No contest.

One guy has a Saleen S7 twin turbo too. A few have Enzos.

Yeah I saw them running the GT for speed tests think its topped at 197 MPH for the run.

The Carrera GT tops out around 200MPH not because it lacks the raw power to go faster, but Porsche was less concerned with having the speed crown and more concerned with building a great handling car (thus giving it a lot more downforce at 200MPH than the Koenigsegg).

IMO, comparing the Carrera GT to the Koenigsegg is like apples to oranges. A high-strung NA V10 is an entirely different experience from a dual-supercharged V8. That's why I think it's moot to do side-by-side comparisons of high end supercars; they are pieces of art, each having something distinct to offer.

It's the mid-speed acceleration that's really good with the Koenigsegg. The 60-150mph is simply amazing. Top speed isn't all that useful for most people.

Another thing the Koenigsegg has is very good low-end grunt. It has power from 2000rpm, whereas most supercars have almost no power down that low.
