World's Creepiest Destinations

Ghosts and hauntings. Mysterious disappearances and murderous daughters. Whether it's Halloween or not, most of us enjoy a good, clean scare.

What happens, though, when the hauntings are real? When the places remain home to their long-departed guests? Then the fun takes on a whole new meaning; the screams and chills become more than some people can stand.

For those who aren't feint of heart, we've compiled a list of some of the most frightening places in the world.

Are they real? Are they a sham? You decide ... and then vote on which place you think is creepiest!

My sister and her fiance are staying in the Lizzie Borden Bed and Breakfast (#1 on the list) this Halloween.

The Winchester Mystery House is pretty cool too, not so much creepy, although I imagine on an unguided tour it might get a little erie. It's more of a demonstration of bizzare architecture than anything else. I'd like to tour it again and bring my digital camera, I didn't get any pictures last time. If you're staying in San Jose, I think there's a shuttle you can call from most hotels to take you there, I don't remember if it was free or not.
