OK, say in the current state of the world, the US gets INVADED. The EU (all the countries in the EU save britain) and the Russians have just landed in alaska and are working their way south, all the countries are putting their full might into the invasion. The US has time to mobolize as they work their way thru canada as they are putting up a decent fight in the wilderness. The US does have the support of Canada, but that is it, all other countries are neutral, supporting neither sides. Would the US be able to fight them back and then launch a counter invasion of Eurasia?

and ,NO WMD ARE USED this is conventional

Nobody wins in war, if we had a nuclear war now everyone would be dead.

The US has the support of Canada, eh?

*snickers*

btw, the US has superior technology, but it would be pretty long and drawn out, considering the massive front that we would face. Oh, and how about give some more realistic alliances?

I think the UK isn't in the EU, right?

With the current US superiority in Satellite reconnaisance, Naval Submarines, Air Force, Battle Tanks and Missile Technology, just how or why is this war supposed to start?

EU and Russia. They have more people, and unlike some pissant nation, they have capabilities and education, as well as resources to build weapons.
How much of a fight is Canada going to put up?
There was a time when Canada's military wasn't a joke. Canada has 30 million people - over half of that of Britain - and great natural resources, as well as an educated populous. If they needed to retool for war they could in a while. Still though, the US & Canada is no match for EU and Russia.

England is now, though there is talking of pulling out I think, but honestly I don't follow it much.

I'm kinda sick of people always putting down on Canada's armed forces as a whole. Our armour divisions might not be the best (our tank rocks :p ) but you can't beat the infantry and artillery skills. I'm talking per capita here. I know the US has us outnumbered 10:1, but who'd you call when you needed snipers for the Afghanistan/Iraq conflict? That's right. Canada.

The EU minus Britain invading the U.S.A.? Considering the incredible air and water superiority America has I'm not sure many EU vessels would even make it over to North America - and you simply cannot invade a continent by air drop.

Edit: Just to clear up things, there are at least two nations in the EU - France and Germany - that you do NOT want to underestimate on the battlefield, if they put their mind to an effort. However neither nation currently has the assets to invade successfully.

One of my favorite Einstein quotes

It matters not what weapons World War III will be fought with. World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

Heh, this thread could be used as a prime example of how ATOT threads get off course so quickly :)

Yes, let's not forget that merely half a century ago Germany had Europe on its knees - even with the US against that effort, I might add.

U.S wins.

The Navy would be able to sink the majority of the EU/Russian warships in a few days. There are too many advanced carrier groups, subs, and surface ships for enemy ships to survive long.

The only country with a serious blue water navy to oppose the US is Russia. Most of that has been rusting in port for the last fifteen years.

The U.S. Airforce would be operating close to their bases and be able to maintain control of the skies.

The invasion force would become cut off in a hostile country with no supplies.
