World War 2 scenario

What if the US had gone to war with the russians immediatly after the german surrender or almost before? Would the US have tried to rearm the german army to help fight the russians? how would the war had went in your opinion? If patton had been given complete command.

would have been a bigger mistake than vietnam. we probably would have gotten farther than the germans had, but we would never have conquered them entirely. even if we ever managed to take the entire country (impossible- its freaking HUGE), we would be fighting against rebels in every corner of the country. russians are extremely patriotic, and the communists had their propaganda machine down perfectly. the only way to do it would have been with nukes- and wed already used up the two that we had. no way would we have rearmed the germans right away.

I think we would have had enough support from the people who were terrorized by Stalin to have pulled it off.

A great many Soviets were thrilled when the Germans came marching into town because they thought they were being liberated from Stalin's terror... only to find the Germans were just as bad.

I've always wondered what would have happend if Germany and Russia were allies and never fought against each other. Instead, together they invade Europe.

Using Combat Mission I've seen what machine guns do to the human wave. So I say "no problem" 🙂

we didn't have enough army there to do it, we would have been steamrolled and communism would have reigned from bering to biscay.
