Have read a ton of reviews and these two seem to get the most hype. yes, I'll probably rent both and decide for myself but I was curious is anyone had played these games yet. thanks

If your looking for the most realistic gameplay and stat tracking then WSB is the best to get.

If your looking for a fun semi-realistic game (far from arcadish though) with a decent features and tremendous graphics then MVP is the one to get.

The previous 4 years I got WSB but I went with MVP to try something new and was not dissapointed.

Yes, All current baseball game do. The general consensous though is that WSB's is way better and more in depth then any of its competitor's.

I liked WSB for Dreamcast...and i like NHL2k3 more than any other game...so i'll probably buy WSB eventually.

i have WSB2K2 for XBox and it rocks. I'd play it more but im taking a break from the XBOX. I played 5 season in franchise mode in Madden 2003. Im burnt out.

I wish WSB had support for Xbox Live. That is the reason I held out last season.

Microsoft's Inside Pitch, releasing in May, will be XBOX Live compatible.

the one thing that bugs me about world series is the stupid cursor batting where you have to quickly try to position the cursor to hit the ball. I've tried this in past baseball games and I just can't get it down. the pitch comes in too fast. is there a trick or something?

where is the challenge if all you have to do is push a button to swing the bat?

i know that's the challenging part I just don't react fast enough to even get the cursor in the general and swing at the same time. oh well. I guess i'll have to keep on practicing 🙂

hahaha...i like the way High Heat Baseball is set up...the cursor on that one works pretty well. but i don't remember having a problem with WSB on the Dreamcast either. *shrug*

😀

I know this is in MVP, but does anybody know if accurate batting stances and pitching motions are in WSB?

A few (the big stars) are, but the majority have one of like 10 "generic" stances.

It's all about experience. At first, it will be hard because you don't know how to judge the ball that's incoming. Pretty soon, you will learn all the frequent angles and trajectories that the pitches approach you... and you'll be better able to anticipate the landing zone in a matter of milliseconds.

For instance, a changeup's release point is always higher than where it'll end up. You have all the time in the world to react to that pitch, but you have to know the exact height to place the cursor before swinging away. Doesn't take long to familiarize with a changeup. The splitter is the toughest since the bottom does fall out at the last minute, but if you can at least get a piece, you're on your way.

It took me a good month to hit well. What's more realistic is that the better pitchers will have "different" looking deliveries... but just like in real life... you have to learn tendencies.

I just picked up WSB 2k3 tonight. So far i really like the game play. I only played two games...but it is a lot of fun. 😀
