Could someone please explain world phones to me? I could be completley wrong, but from what I have heard these phones use satellites so you never are out of service? correct?

Thanks
Eddie

Ericsson has the T28 world. There's a lite version which is the T28z -- it looks exactly like the T28w but does not have the slim battery or the 'world-roaming' capability. I love my T28w but can't wait when the prices for the Bluetooth headset become affordable!

I believe (at least with my current provider), you have to call-in to make sure they "turn-on" your long-distance/overseas feature -- this way, it gets billed "properly". I'm unsure if there's actual roaming when you get to a different country -- I suppose you'd have to make sure they have a affiliate/partner there. I do know that my provider is a member of the GSM network
