Formated my c partition, reinstalled windows xp. I have WOW on a seperate partition. Will installing over the directory erase my mods/setting for those mods? If so , what is the best method to reinstall wow, without losing my settings/mods?

if wow is on another partition, you do not need to reinstall wow (wow is modular, it doesn't add anything to your system files / registry). All you need to do is copy a shortcut to your desktop.

i know because i took my gf's computer, fixed it up and copied my entire wow folder into her computer over the lan. I created a shortcut and ALL my settings, macros, blah blah were in tact.

Well to get technical, WoW does add itself to the registry, but yeah you don't need to formally install it. Copying the files over will work just fine.

when I reformatted my C drive most everything worked fine but if it doesn't there's a cool freeware program Change of Address 2 that fixed everything that didn't work. It's also an amazingly useful for switching programs around to free up space.

Just a heads up, but I installed it on my desktop and laptop.
After getting my mods all set uup on my desktop, I put mods on my laptop, set them up. By doing that, it messed up the icon arrangement on my pc. I guess those button arrangments are saved on the wow server or something, so watch out.

uh, your mods and stuff (as you should know if you added mods) are all in a folder within the WoW directly in the program files or wherever ou saved it, so your settings are OK.
Many settings are saved on the WoW server such as UI scale etc etc etc, so you don't need to worry about muchof your options.

Most mods don't save your settings, so things like CT-mod, you may hve to move your bars around etc
