yep, what guybrush said.

they teach you how to play as you start off. similar to the game Othello, a minute to learn, a lifetime to master.

Easy to learn just keep they Tips Display on (it's on by default) and click the exclamation points as they come up on the bottom of the screen. It's an mmo, not rocket surgery.

WoW takes a minute to learn, and about a day to master. :p Once you realize that your character is exactly the same as every other, a lot of the fun goes up in smoke.

No, Bateluer is mad because it wasnt a life changing experience perhaps? ^^

How many characters have you tried out bat?

I dont see much resemblence between my druid and my paladin.

I was disappointed in WoW because there was no originality, no differences between player characters. Your Druid will look like every other druid of the same race, as will your paladin. Also, unless it was changed from the Open Beta, the only limitation to what skills you can learn is your cash supply. In other words, every human Paladin, for example, will end up like every other human paladin. Compared to EQ2, this is unacceptable and pathetic.

Its a good MMO to get warmed up in though, eventually you'll be seeking a real MMORPG. :)

You do make a good point there. I was thinking you meant all classes were the same.

I wish they would have done skills like the talent tree, or even a setup like d2. I agree its perhaps not pathetic, but stupid that everyone can have every skill for a price, and you can unlearn your talents if you wish to rechoose them. This is where challenge comes into play, when you actually have to make some decisions.

Either way, im getting to level 60 and seeing how fun the PvP is, if its entertaining i will be staying for a long time to come, if not I'll probably be trying out something shortly.

if I'm not mistaken isn't EQ2 have the exact same problem of classes being the same? I haven't played but this is a quote from IGN's take on the game:

"The only other big problem I have is the lack of distinction within each character archetype. Until you reach 10th level and have a crack at the class advancement quests, your mage will be exactly like everyone else's mage." - PC IGN

The equipment you wear can make you look different (not much I agree)

There is a talent tree, completely different from your skills you buy. You get talents at level 10 and get 1 talent point per level which allows for quite a bit of differentiation between characters of the same class.

LOL WTF are you smoking... IN EQ2 every single char is identicle and they all look EXACTLY the same...
in fact they re so similar THEY GIVE YOU YOUR SPELLS/SKILLS WHEN YOU DING!
did you even research at all the talent / racial talents before you left for that POS EQ2?

My rogue is very different than others already..
#1 WoW rogues can choose to weild any number of weps not just daggers and rapiers they can wield maces for stuns or swords for damage or daggers for speed and Assassination skills.. or a combo of any of them..
You can then customize your abilities by choosing which talents you will take..this is what really makes each char unique.. and there is no real BEST template.. it all varys by play style...
if you want to be more a stealthy bastard. do the stealth talents.. if you want to be a Assassin type char take some skills in the assassinaiton line.. if you just want to be able to dish out enough damage standing toe to toe with anything choose the combat line..
OR Mix any of the above..
AND THEN!!!
you have hero classes which will suppoedly change through a quest based on talent/class choices...

I played both extensivly... and there is WAY more customization in WOW than EQ2.. the only thing that makes you differnt in EQ2 is that dumb char gen that eats up craploads of bandwith and makes it where they have to instance even towns to combat the lag from player models...
no thanks...
ill keep my gnome funniest cutest MMO character ever....
