didn't want to post in that huge hulk of a thread because this is something that i don't think everyone knows.

I can't see the sparks for crap on Malygos, yet I can't afford to increase spell detail to see it because it lags me since it increases the spell detail on everything.
So that's why I was wondering if there is a way to increase spell detail for just 1 spell using the console or something.

Thanks

EDIT:
i was wondering if there is a way to lower ALL graphics below the minimum just like how you can change the maximum zoom-out by using some commands - was wondering if this was possible.
Right now, I'm on the lowest resolution/detail/etc. in the graphics menu, but I was wondering if I could lower the graphics even more somehow.

Thanks again :)

i dont think you can do that

however guildies of mine use this for Sarth because they have failures for computers, it might help you

These 2 macros to make WoW pretty when I'm out and about in the world, and to drop unnecessary graphic effects for better performance in 25 man raids.

Pretty WoW (more graphic intense):
/console groundEffectDensity 256
/console groundEffectDist 200
/console detailDoodadAlpha 100
/console horizonfarclip 2112
/console farclip 999
/console characterAmbient

Raid graphic setting (good enough, you can see fire so you don't stand in it):
/console groundEffectDensity 16
/console groundEffectDist 1
/console horizonfarclip 1305
/console farclip 177
/console characterAmbient 1
/console smallcull 1
/console skycloudlod 1
/console detailDoodadAlpha 1

I hope this helps me out in Sarth with multiple drakes up. It's really tough as a melee with random dragon wings clipping across your screen and then having to re-adjust to find the edge of a void zone hidden by DK spell animations. I've literally died by one, said wtf, and then looked closer and could see just a slight hint of blue peeking out of some massive spell effect. Pissed me the hell off because I don't die to that kind of crap!

My PC is actually good and I still have trouble picking the void zones out of all of the other random crap going on in the Sarth encounter with multiple drakes up. Melee has to contend with so much random crap going on near the boss that it's very easy to lose sight of the blue voids in the middle of all of the other junk especially when it sometimes gets washed out by the blue dragon.

With that being said, it's still 100x better than when they were red.

If I could turn off all DK spell effects it would make any fight with a void zone that much easier. :p

One thing you should also do is turn off unnecessary add-ons before raiding. Hell, you could turn off your recount and simply log the combat text and then post it to check. But yeah, I mean just try turning off all your add-ons and loading the game... you'll see how much faster it is ;). You can also do this with a couple unnecessary add-ons to see how your performance changes in game.

Oh and that's an interesting macro, anubis .

Raid on Aggramar Thursday night had me crying. Heigan was a bitch for us because, up until 10:30, the servers just had horrible lag spikes that would come 'just at the right time'. I've bitched about moving servers, but it's just such a pain in the ass to move an entire guild along with bank tabs and other items.

You know it's time to upgrade when...

try going into the Config.wtf file in your WTF folder and change the field "gxResolution" to something small... like 640x480, but beware... you will have an extremely small amount of real estate for stuff on your GUI.

my guess is going to be no.

re: sparks, can't you just run to where everyone else is running and watch for the spark debuff?
