World of Warcraft - Scroll of Resurection

I have not played WoW since 2006 and was interested in playing again with this new expansion they have coming out having a monk class.

Scroll of Resurrection (link)
- Play free for 7 days
- Level a character of your choosing, new or old account char, to 80
- Get a full set of lvl 80 gear for you spec
- Can choose either faction and/or any server with that character
- Get all expansions up through Cataclysm

Seemed like a good deal to me since you get all that stuff along with the current expansions for free. Once my seven days is up ill just let the game sit till the new expansion is out and buy that one.

One note about the link. I actually had called them and found out about the scroll over the phone so if any of you are interested you may want to call them so you can ensure a smooth process.

Agreed I am eagerly anticipating that as well but did not do the pre-purchase hoping for a small discount deal near the release at the end of this month.

I feel obliged to inform you that if you haven't played since 2004, you are likely to be sorely disappointed with the direction the game has taken, including the entire premise of the new expansion. Then again, if you stopped in 2004 you would have missed all of the endgame content from vanilla (still the best WoW content ever, IMO), as well as what many consider to be the best expansion (TBC).

That said, the scroll of resurrection is, admittedly, a great deal if you're looking to see where things have gone in the last 8 years and decide if you want to buy the new expansion.

Maybe he got his year mixed up. Didn't WOW launch in Nov. 2004? That would mean that OP would've only put one month into the game before quitting.

Beta was February, but yeah official launch was Nov. 2004. I think they only released up through Maraudon in 2004.

Was tempted to come back just for the free leveling that the scroll offers, but since none of the people I know play anymore there was no one to send it to me.

The recruiter seems to get very little compared to the recipient, it seems (or at least it was that way last time I checked).

The recruiter gets a free mount, but only after the resurrected account is renewed and an active subscription re-established (or at least a month of paid time actually charged).
