Even though I dislike Civ4, I would recommend i over WoW, becuase MMORPG's take over your life.

qft. mmorpgs are crack. recovering wow addict.

me, too. i've been sober for 6 months now. :)

I was almost in the same boat as you two. Two weeks into the game I thought it was the best thing since oxygen, but coming into the third week at level 24(a level 20 as well) I thought, what the hell am I doing? Since I didn't have a job and in between semesters I was easily playing more than 6 hours each day. I decided to quit playing it because I felt at my level I had already experienced the whole game, and wasn't doing anything worthwhile over my break. You pretty much either grind monsters/instances, grind the battlegrounds, or play the auction house.

Now, before straying off course into new territory...I say get Civ IV.

I don't feel as though I've wasted all my time during the Winter break now. Instead of playing any games(or finding a new job :)) I ended up re-reading G.R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series(Not the 4th, still waiting to get it from a library reserve), re-read the Gunslinger by Stephen King, re-read The Chronicles of Narnia books by C.S. Lewis, large parts of some non-fiction books, and am now reading David Copperfield by Chuck Dickens. I ended up reading all these other books while waiting for my reserved copy of A Feast For Crows from the library. Whoever has it is two weeks overdue...if I find out who rented it and kept it so long I'm going to end up reading it in a jail cell, lol.

Those are all great books! You must either have a very long winter break or read A LOT faster than me, though. I would love to re-read A Song of Ice & Fire in preparation for A Feast of Crows (got it for my Dad on xmas and he is reading it now). Unfortunately it would probably take me half a year to do that (3 books, each 1000 pages+ for those who havent seen these monsters!). And I just started playing WoW too, so yeah.

Get Civ4. The Wow servers are already too full. If you do decide to get WoW, don't play on Suramar, I don't want an even longer queue when I'm tryin to get on!

I joined a "low pop" server for a reason, however, it doesn't appear to obe "low pop" at all any more.
