In order to evaluate World of Warcraft's account-creation process and server performance under heavy loads, Blizzard will be conducting a seven-day stress test beta in the days ahead. This test will require over 100,000 players to download the World of Warcraft stress test beta client, create an account, and log on to play when the test goes live!

To make the client available for download to such a large audience, we have partnered with FilePlanet, GameSpy's Web-based file-delivery service. It's on Fileplanet, which means I'll be able to start downloading this in about 15 hours. At least I'll be home.
 
You have to be a paying fileplanet member or something, to get this. Anyone know if it's possible to get in on this for free?
 
Sign up for a free account (ad-supported) (it's a mess to wade through 😛) and you'll, according to them, be able to d/l it in a few days. BTW thanks OP! 🙂

Talk about a quick way to make a few million off new subscribers... I wonder how much of a kickback Blizzard gets?

I'm in the regular beta.. great game.. too bad yall gonna be on a server they are trying to crash..
its a great game and under that kinda stress it might not show you how good the game really is..

7 days isnt long enough to get truly addicted lol

If you download it from fileplanet right now, there's no wait. I'm pulling 220k/sec (maxed my connection out) from the west coast server.

220k/sec isn't great, but it's probably better than you're going to do on a torrent.

 
Looks like it's closed now unless you already signed up or pay to use fileplanet.

I'll have to find it somewhere else when I get home.
 
I was selected in the last phase of beta before the stress test. sold my account on ebay for $400. I shall wait until final release

I was able to sustain around 5MB/s. Took me 8 mins to get the whole thing 🙂
