What kind of video card will these setting in World of Conflict require for playable frame rates even during a lot of action like planes, tanks, and helicopters shooting all at once and blowing up?

my 8800gtx and core2duo e6850 + 4gigs patriot extreme memory still has some dips into the 18fps area every now and then. I suppose thats probably more a coding issue on thier end though. However when I played the demo through and not the benhmark, i had no noticeable lag.

:Q

Is the benchmark more demanding than the actual game or could that much action at one time happen ?

My roomate is running an E6600 at 3.4ghz, with 2x8800GTX in SLI, and his framerates dip as low as 15fps in the benchmark, max settings at 1920x1080(no AA, 16x AF).

The benchmark is pretty demanding yeah. I monitored FPS in both the benchmark and in real gameplay and noticed that I never really got drops in gameplay as bad as I did during benchmarking.

:Q Now that is just sad. This game has to be coded badly like Rainbow Six Vegas because both of these games need the next nvidia video card just to be able to power them with over 30 fps minimum frame rates constantly during the most demanding gameplay action.

I agree that the benchmark is way more demanding than the actual game. I have a GTX8800 GTX / C2D E6750 and it was silky smooth outside of multiplayer when somebody dropped a nuke. The benchmark uses lots of low camera angles exposing high detail that nobody would use while actually playing the game.

FWIW I get 35fps on the benchmark on DX9 with everything turned up (1920x1200). The great thing about the game though is that it really looks pretty good on even the lowest setting.

Yes, the benchmark is pretty demanding, but i like my detail, and i zoom in a lot. It usually runs 30fps+ though.

Don't be daft. This is an RTS. To get FPS quality visuals throughout the entire map, all of which can be seen with the right camera elevation and angle, with flawless performance on all cards is impossible. If you have even bother to try the demo, you would know that there are several dozen graphics settings. If everything is turned on, obviously performance suffers. And because this is an RTS, the minimum framerate can go to as low as 15 and be playable. For me, I'm running the game @1280x1024 on low with an X800XL and there are no issues until a nuke goes off. It's hard to do anything during that time anyways, so it's a bit of a moot point.
