I actually liked the single player a LOT. Made me feel like I was actually really commanding real units in a real battle with other fights going on around me, opposed to other RTS where you can command ALL the units instead. Dunno, felt good.

I'm disappointed...From watching the videos, Ithought you'd be able to zoom ALL THE WAY out whenever you wanted, but the game limits you to like 50 feet above the batlefield. WTF? There is no excuse for this...

The game engine can certainly handle zooming wayy in and wayy out...why not give users complete control over the camera?

Is it me or are ALL the things, objects, troops, vehicles, buildings, I mean literally everything is on scale ? I mean a real-life comparable scale ? The game feels awesome for that alone. I mean finished are the troops in C&C being almost as big as the tanks, finished are the tanks almost as big as the buildings. So far the scale seems right on, very life-like. And the particles effects are outstanding !

I found the training scenario really cool, but got a little lost during the mission gameplay. Found it hard to keep track of my little units. Spectacular visuals, and everything ran super smooth, without any hitches or stutters. Not sure why the Russians are called Soviets though...

LoL sirjonk. It's because it's a fantasy scenario where the cold war never ended. Heres part of a pressrelease:

World in Conflict asks the terrifying question, what if the Cold War didn?t end? The award-winning game represents the next-generation of strategy titles, pitting Cold War-era superpowers against one another with completely destructible 3D battlefields and blistering visuals using DX10 technology. World in Conflict features an innovative gameplay mechanism that removes traditional resource-gathering and base-building in favor of non-stop combat, tactical decisions and FPS-like intense action. The game also features a deep single-player campaign that showcases Hollywood-quality storytelling of the Cold War gone hot.

Aha. That'll teach me to skip press releases ;) Oh, the good old days when we knew who and where the bad guys were!
