World debuts abound for N.Y.; show will feature new Chrysler design, bold Lexus concept

SATURN

The automaker will take the wraps off a Vue that is the first model in Saturn's performance series, known as Red Line. New for the 2004 model year will be Honda's 250-hp, 3.5-liter V-6.
:Q

EDIT: Did they say '250-hp'...as in 10 more than what the Accord gets?

Yeah Saturn is using Honda's powerplants which is odd, since GM has enough V6s in its arsenal to be used in a Saturn car.

the DCX design is the 300N, which is completed and is driving around SE Michigan, though it is camoflauged. My dad says it looks really good, and he isnt much of a styling person.

Now I know that SOMEONE has to have a link to a sneak peek at these concepts like we did for the Detroit Auto Show 😀

I dunno if your hinting I have the pics, but I don't this time. Don't have time to hunt since I have finals right now.

Maybe if you have the link I posted before and modifiy the directory path it could lead us to the pics. Its a long shot though.

They added 500cc worth of displacement and only managed to get an extra 10hp? Methinks this Honda powerplant has been tuned to provide more low-end torque to satisfy domestic buyers...

EDIT: Nevarmind....forgot that the Vue was their SUV. So this is the Pilot/MDX engine...explains the hp and displacement figures...okay moving on...

Already tried that. 😀 It doesn't work. 🙁

I tried some variations on it too but I couldn't find anything that worked.

What if Honda is putting a Northstar V8 in the next Acura RL/Legend!!?? :Q:Q:Q

Yeah okay that'll never happen...

Jigga's Rumor Mill:

Is the next Mitsubishi Diamante going to be based on Chrysler's LX platform??? Sources indicate that some LX-cues have already been incorporated in the all-new Galant being unveiled this week...

I hope that the new Solara kicks the Accord Coupe's ass!!!! 😀 I'm guessing maybe 250HP from the 3.3 liter V6😛

i would say so. The final outcome of the DCX merger will be Mitsu doing the low end cars(neon/lancer, etc) Chrysler doing the mid-level vehicles, and Benz doing the high end. You can see it happening already. The next Neon will be a mitsu car and the Crossfire is basically a benz.

I dunno, with the recent styling trend by Toyota, I doubt that (in terms of looks anyway). Will the Solara have a little bit of "Camry" looks in it? The current Solara is beautiful (looks much better than Accord Coupe) but I'm scared of the next version.

I wouldn't worry about it...if IRC the Solara is designed in a California studio while the Camry is done in Japan. Completely different design team...similar to how Honda's coupe is designed by their folks out near Laguna Seca...

Oh. I did not know that (about Toyo or Honda). We'll see how it goes. I hope Nissan comes out with a surpirse car (not the SUVs) and I'm anxious to see how the new Infinti full-size SUV will look.

Also I think the Lexus concept is gonna mimic the FX.

A limited-edition 2004 SVT Mustang Cobra Mystichrome also will debut. The car's color-shifting paint changes from green to blue to purple to black as the angle of view changes.

Uhg! Bet that's a bitch to color match if it gets hit.

Yup, I'm going next week on Wednesday... I'll get pics galore. Prolly going to take the ferry across from NJ. It goes right there!

That's what I do. It's the best way to do it.
