Btw, there is a 2x16GB (32GB kit) of Crucial Ballistix Sport (white/grey) of DDR4-2667 1.2V for $109.99 right now @ Newegg. A couple of sets of those for a four-DIMM Ryzen / AM4 board, would really hit the spot for WCG, I think. Plus, it's only 1.2V memory. So it runs cool at stock (has heatspreaders), and has overclocking headroom. (Probably Micron E-die? Could maybe hit DDR4-3600 CAS16 @ 1.35-1.40V with Zen2 CPUs?)

If I have the money next month, I'm getting four of those kits (if they're still $20 off like today), and getting a new-production Ryzen R5 3600. (Were $165 recently @ Newegg, and the newest batches have been hitting crazy overclocks compared to my earlier-release batch. Like 4.4-4.5Ghz all-core, at under 1.30Vcore. VERY tempting.)

That would give me two rigs, then, with Ryzen R5 3600 CPUs, and both with 64GB of DDR4-2667 (probably tweaked to at least 3200, if not pushed to 3600 if I can.)

Then it will be WCG, full steam ahead!

Oh yeah, I signed up for the COVID-19 project on WCG, and fired up BOINC (new version available, and it's signed!) on my existing Ryzen R5 3600.

Maybe someday I'll get a 3900X(T), like @mopardude87 . :)

Are you only running CPU projects on those Ryzen 3600s? I would be really interested to compare performance per watt to my raspberry pi 4s!

Funny, when I'm mining on my CPU, I get "hard freezes" like every two weeks, but since doing WCG on the CPU on this box, 100% CPU usage, I haven't had any freezes. (Crosses fingers.)

Anyone got any idea how to get the gpu to kick into high gear here? I decided i wanna put my gpu into this, but despite enabling and all it simply refuses to work. Any tricks or tips to get it loading please? Tired of Folding@Home and its non stop issues on the gpu at least. I rather put more time at least into this program, assuming its way more reliable or as reliable as its been with the cpu. Thing is a juggernaut, it just works on the cpu. Not a fit yet.

WCG is currently all CPU work. Help Conquer Cancer had GPU work but that project has since sunset.
