A friend of my asked me to make a build for him, it would be used primarily for Photoshop, and Aftereffects but also gaming.
I am from Serbia so for some parts we do have limited options. The budget is around 900-1000 euros. So i thought of three options but i do not have much experience with Adobe applications so it would be nice that someone who does tells me which option is better and if some parts are unnecessary or if i am missing something. Also if 90% of parts are wrong for these programs i wont get mad if you give me a whole build that would be better :awe: !

So i was thinking:

cpu : xeon e3 - 1240v2 or 3770k for 1155 option, or a 3820 for the 2011 socket.
Mobo : gigabyte z77 - d3h, or ASROCK X79 Extreme4
CPU cooler : COOLER MASTER Hyper 612
RAM : 2 x CORSAIR 8GB (2x4GB) 2133MHz DDR3
GPU : GAINWARD GeForce GTX 660 2GB
PSU : SEASONIC SS-520GB 520W
SSD : KINGSTON 120GB SSD SATA600 HyperX 3K
HDD : 2 x WESTERN DIGITAL 1TB 64MB 7k SATA600
CASE : CM Storm Scout 2

In every part combination this is still over the budget ( that is with prices here ), so i would like if you kinda tell me what can i remove or replace to get a lower price but still keep most of the performance/utility.

i'd look at a E3-1230 V2 if its cheaper and you could get 1600 DDR3 RAM. if the cost is too high the first item to look at would be dropping the SSD and replace it with a HDD. also couldn't you get a single 2TB instead of two 1TB drives?

and if he is using the CUDA for adobe and not gaming, a 650ti instead of a 660 would be fine.

Well since you have some limited options it's hard for us to suggest specific parts, as they may not be available by you. Do you have a link to the website you're using to order parts so we could look at their stock?

I would forget the 3820 option because it's not worth the money over a Socket 1155 quad core.

The build looks good in general, though I would probably stick to the E3-1230 V2 because it's a better value than the E3-1240 V2 or the i7 3770K. Also ditch the 2133MHz memory for DDR3 1600 (there's just not much benefit).

Yeah i would link you the site but it is all in serbian so i doubt it would help :). So the e3 - 1240v2 is just 5 euros more expensive so i think it is worth it. So what motherboard would you recommend for this cpu. And i found some corsair 8GB (2x4GB) 1600MHz Vengeance so 2 of those kits i guess will do. Do you think the 520w psu is enough?

Eh, may as well throw the link up there. Can't hurt anything, right?

We are quite good at deciphering web pages in random languages. The part numbers are all pretty much the same and prices are easy to figure out as well.

Anyway, the recunari.net has the E3-1240V2 listed 33,408 din and the i7 3770K for 32,016 din, so the E3-1240V2 is definitely not worth it there. Monitor.rs has the i7 3770K for 30,400 din and the i7 3770 for 28,065 din.

Overall, your best value is this i7 3770 for 28,065.

So what motherboard would you recommend for this cpu.

Since you're not overclocking, an H77 motherboard like this GA-H77-DS3H is good and inexpensive.

And i found some corsair 8GB (2x4GB) 1600MHz Vengeance so 2 of those kits i guess will do. Do you think the 520w psu is enough?

You want to go 2x8GB for the memory to leave you some room for later expansion (it doesn't cost any extra). You don't need to get fancy RAM like the Vengeance, a couple of these Kingston DDR3 1600 8GB DIMMs will work fine.

A 520W Seasonic is more than enough for a GTX 660 and a 1155 quad, like 2 times more than you need.
