If money were no object, would a workstation graphics card, like the ATI Fire series or nVidia Quadro cards, provide any faster game framerates as compared with the consumer/game cards??
I know some of the price difference is related to drivers/software optimized for certain 3D development tools, but would the cards benefit the end-user at all?

Just curious.

In fact in some cases they can cause minor performance drops, and occasionally severe compatibility issues.
Professional boards and Consumer boards well deserve to be places on opposite spectrums.

Not that I disagree w/ you Rand, but why? Is it because these Pro video cards are geared towards a particular program, say PS for example, or is it because of the type of system they are in? I'm just curious.
