Workouts to increase speed and vertical?

I'd like to increase my speed and vertical. Google searches turn up vague results or ads for various video products.

I'm sure somebody here knows of either good resources or a good set of exercises to do this (preferably without weights, but this isn't required). Mind sharing your secrets?

plyometrics, lower body weight lifting and jogging

plyos build fast twitch muscle that will get your feet off the ground quicker and give you "explosion". the weight lifting will make sure that your muscles have the power to move you and the jogging will give you the aerobic ability to perform better workouts and perform at a higher level for longer.

also, a lot of research has shown that hamstrings and glutes (butt muscle) has as much to do with your verticle as your quads do so make sure that your weight routine is well balanced (lower leg, upper leg, hips, stomach/back).
