i'm currently taking whey protein, but thinking about trying L-GLUTAMINE. What's your experience with it and do you know any good brands?

One of my co-workers is currently taking it right now. He's using the one from Twinlab but he said he hasn't really noticed anything.

Most people don't need it since it's a "conditionally essential" AA. This means your bod does make some, but your need for it can exceed this production. The kicker is that very few people work out hard enough and long enought to do this. I notice a difference when I'm doing 20 hours a week on the bike for early-season base, but that's about it.

At any rate, it's certainly not going to hurt you. Pro-Score is one brand I can think of offhand that contains l-Glutamine.

Never took it. Biggest gains I've experienced were from Creatine (phosphogen) and ZMA.

I took it..

It seems to make me more energetic during workouts, but when you're just doing nothing, it makes you real tired.

I read somewhere that extensive studies were done on L-GLUTAMINE, and the results were the same for both the control group and the Placebo group. I use to take it, but I didn't notice anything differently from when I wasn't taking it, thus I stopped.
