This is how it goes ... I'm a junior, I'll hopefully be starting Defensive End next year, naturally I want to get bigger. Our football program is already diehard, we left 4 days a week, have conditioning drills, etc.. Now.. the way I figure it, even if we left the 4 days we do.. if we continue to get run, and conditioned for the non-stop 20 minute periods after we finish our lift to the point where we can barely walk anymore... is there anyway I'll be able to gain weight? Or am I just burning off whatever weight I might be putting on lifting?

There is absolutely no way in hell to gain any weight in a good conditioning session. When i played ball it wasnt unusual for some guys to lose 20-30 lbs throughout conditioning. Just remember, its only water weight and fat. So less fat = u run faster. It isnt a problem. Youre supposed to bulk up before spring training :)

I coach. If my players want to gain weight, I recommend protein and weight gainer shakes. Yes, they are pricey. Yes, if you don't work out you will gain a lot of fat @ 1300 calories a serving. But, if you feel you are too light for your position (and weak) then there really isn't much else you can do.
