Worklog: The Freebie Desk

So I'm finally getting around to putting my Freebie Desk together, seriously enough the only tools i've used were a sawzall and a drill.. nothing else so no its not 100% pretty, this setup is honestly temporary until Spotwood completes my custom mobo tray a month from now. which will then be properly inserted into the cabinet.

so specs of the hardware is going as follows,
ASRock Z77M LGA 1155 Intel Z77
i3 2100T
2x 500gb (1x 5400rpm, 1x 7200rpm)
1x 120gb G.Skill Phoenix Pro SSD
sapphire vapor-x 4890 1gb(trying to snag another one to crossfire)
lite-on sata dvdrw
OCZ StealthxStream 700w
Corsair Vengence DDR3 1600 2x4GB

will be installing a RX360 radiator, apogee drive block/mcp350 pump combo, micro res(fitted with fillport on top) i plan to add gpu block later on but atm funds are limited.

I'll be using a 24in kitchen cabinet and attaching it to the left side of the planned desk.
I'll be using a 4ft section of Futura Smokey Topaz counter-top, and later on for the right side i'll be adding some 2x4 on top of my entertainment center that will be sitting under the right side.

Day 1:
Well I'll start off with the these two.. Xena the warrior princess, and Kimbo Slice

they help get in my way everytime i try to do something lol.
she is 2 and he is 3, i bought xena when she was 3months old, and recently rescued kimbo from a home in slidell,la where i was doing some work.

arriving today i got my g.skill ssd and sata dvdrw

okay so i didnt get to take much pictures as i just happened to get in my just finish it already mood..
im still waiting on my rad grill and micro res before i install the w/c loop.

i ended up going with the rad in front instead of placing it on the side like i originally planned, so to make it fit i had to cut in notches as you see on the first pic.
a 360 rad fits perfect and will be looking good with a rad grill in place to hide everything.

im still waiting to hear back from dwood or spotswood about a custom tray that will house the m-atx mobo and the psu that will hold another 360 rad above the i/o shield and pci slots.

Day 3: Water Loop Mounted and Mock-Up
so got the rad grill and micro res today and did some more mounting and mock-up
still waiting for some new TIM and PT Nuke to come in.

starting with 10ft of black 3/8" tubing and still have about 4 1/2ft left over incase i cut that res-to-pump line to short 😀

still trying to figure out how managing all these cables are going to work out..

xena the female is half china and half brindle, kimbo is full blood bindle

for now yes the radiator is only for the 2100T, have been trying to find a full cover for my gpu but seems i can only find one for $39.99 @ performancepcs, i figured i'll find someone on the forums that might have one for cheaper.

I really like how those dogs look. Plus that pic elicits the fact that they must have fun personalities.

Sorry that I'm not taking interest in your desk. It's awesome too! 😉
