Working with a .PCX image vs. .jpg image in Photoshop - what's the difference?

I seem to have more luck with the JPG. If there is a difference, how do I convert them from .pcx to .jpg (save as doesn't seem to work, but I am pretty slow at this stuff)?

try using Save for Web instead.. it will give you the option to save the file in JPG format.
