Working with a Face Mask/Covering

I am using the KN95 masks because they are comfortable and don't fog up my glasses. Most importantly, they protect me and the people around me.

What are these "people around me" that you speak of? 😀

Seriously I don't have anyone around at the moment and avoid groups like the veritable plague! (yeah I said it!)

I own a retail business so wearing a facemask has been a thing for me and my employees for over a year. At first it really sucks but after a few weeks you'll get used to it.

Wait, what's the cutoff date for your school district? My daughter missed her cutoff by 2 days by being born Oct 3rd.

Big positive is that your son is going to be highly mature and advanced over the other kids when he start kindergarten so good luck.
I think it's the start of the school year I'm not sure. Either way he wasn't close to missing it.

Not sure what you mean he is going to be mature and advanced when he starts K. He's been in it all year.

Which ones have you gotten?
The ones made by Powecom with the band going behind your head instead of your ears. It makes a tighter seal with the band going behind your head instead of your ears and more comfortable. I can wear them for hours without any discomfort.

Yeah, the ear loops on KN95s suck. I'll have to give these a try.

I added the Adidas masks to my Amazon shopping cart and decided to search for a better price since they're running $20 per 3 pack.

It looks like the Adidas store on eBay has them marked down as of now for $14 per 3 pack. They have XS/S and M/L sizes just check the store link for the other options:

My employer is planning for a "nobody needs to wear a mask in the office, but you're not allowed in the office unless you are fully vaccinated" style opening this summer. I'm curious how that's going to work out.

There is going to be an option to continue to work from home, which I'd expect that most people are going to use/abuse until they force people back into the office eventually.
Hmmm I would suddenly have a giant urge to flip flop to being an antivaxxer.

Try wearing N95’s with a face shield & scrub caps everyday. You know your mask is a good fit when you have dents & bruises on your face after a 9 hour shift

When everything locked down last year, my wife and I both worked from home. I stayed home with the kids and she returned to office work in May/June......you know, for money. I'm going to start transitioning back to the office within the next month or so (later if possible for childcare, etc).

There is going to be a face mask requirement in the office. I work in a cube farm with other people and ventilation isn't great. My concerns are that my facial hair is going to be uncomfortable with a mask on all day. My wife complains about skin irritation and other nasal dryness from wearing a mask. (she's really struggled in her office the past year and tells me I have no concept of the real world...whatever that means)

Should I be looking into getting some neck gaiters or something else? I've got a few cloth masks that are ok, but not thrilled about the idea of wearing them for more than an hour at a time.
Shave!

I wear 3M 9210 N95, I shave, never bothers me. I don't wear for 8 hours at a time, but I've never felt like "I have to take this thing off."

I have some 3M N95 that have ventilation, but I only wear those when skating the streets (i.e. really don't need to wear anything but I do it to be a good citizen).

The 3M 9210 have no ventilator. They fit fabulously, I'm quite sure they'd pass a leak test. The problem with them is they came with rubber straps and those can break, and several did. I ordered some elastic and replaced all the rubber straps. I have 10 left, I gave away maybe 10. My ventilated 3M N95's I'll save for wild fire season. Never had a need for that before 2017, but it looks like it's going to be an every year necessity here in northern California for the indefinite future.

Yeah, my 3M N95's are around the head, not the ears. Gonna pick up those Powecom's, seems like a decent price. More than I paid for my 3M's but I got those before the pandemic. Back in 2017-18 3M N95s could be gotten cheaply off ebay.

Edit: Bought the 10 pack of those headband style black KN95s. No ETA was given.

Edit2: Ah, I see that these are shipping from the USA

Inventory Status:In Stock - ships from Mt. Vernon, NY 10550 USA

Proof? Just saying science is just as good as saying God said so.
I got nothing to prove, fact is already on my side. So if you want to dispute the fact, then you provide the proof to support your unsubstantiated claim.

Also, not wasting my breathe because this is you:

N95s, and I assume KN95's are tested. In critical settings individuals can be and are tested for fit. You can find videos. I haven't been tested but my 3M 9210 N95's seem to fit fabulously. I bought them for wildfires a few years ago. All but 3 I've used some. I gave a bunch away to various people. I never toss them out. They seem pretty durable as long as they have elastic headbands. Now that I'm vaccinated I'm not worried about getting a minimal exposure to the virus, but will continue to wear masks when around people.

Seller is US-based company in NJ and that's where they ship out of. Last time I ordered, it took less than a week for the masks to arrive and I am in CA.

The KN95's I linked to are tested by CDC on a regular basis. I am also fully vaccinated and I still wear a mask in public settings because I don't want to spread the virus to someone else on the off chance I contracted it.

Why not just shave your facial hair?

These should have been made with air packs to deal with the problem last year.

OP stop being a bitch and wear a fucking mask. Discomfort due to facial hair...for fuck's sake.

Then again, you should just argue you don't need a mask seeing how you jammed your head up your own ass.

Goddamn, seriously, whining about wearing a mask in April 2021? Mouth that shit off to a health care worker and I hope any and all of them would slap you before properly disposing of their PPE.

The fact that even your wife calling you a pussy being lost on you is emblematic of your patheticness.

I can think of a place for the OP to jam the nozzle up...

I really enjoy the flexibility, but know a number of people that returned in July are jealous of me not showing up. A few people want me back so I'll walk with them and go out to lunch! 😎

Working in the office is great, but I've enjoyed picking my kids up from school and eating at home. I've saved a ton of money and prepare dinner to be cooked while I'm still working just about every day.

The gravy train has to end eventually though, I suppose.

Well its good you're not eating out your kids. 😱
