It must be fun to be rich and not have to work! But I guess most of us will never know.

What??? How do you think most people get rich, by sitting on their ass? Most people get rich by working their asses off and saving a significant portion of their income.

Inheritance is one way. Unfortunately a lot of people like myself have worked our asses off and have not made a lot of bucks doing it.

Inheritance is a way. But the VAST majority of people work their way into good fortune. Also, just working is not enough (no offense dude). If you work a lot but don't save any money, you'll never be wealthy. Believe it or not most millionaires do not drive BMWs and live in mansions, they are rather normal people who are wise with their spending and saving habits.

Working hard is only part of the equation. You must also work smart and innovate. Remember the view never changes unless you're the lead elephant. Of course nothing gets done through complaining.

I don't like working.

BUT...I do like taking money from large corporations....so I still make an effort to go in from 9-5

I work hard, I don't overspend, and I even save money.... but it still is not enough. I can't tell you what I do for a living but if you know you would figure that I make a lot of money, but unfortunately I don't. Maybe if I just took more risks....

Is it worth tossing aside a job like mine that pays the bills for another career that could be more enjoyable but is risky?

Aside from inheritance, the only way to build wealth is to build a business and invest. As long as you rely only on your ability to make money, you're limited to the number of hours in a day and how much you can make each hour.

When you own a business, you make money off of each person that works for you. And when you invest it's a similar strategy, each dollar is like your little employee that makes money for you. Those are the only ways to build wealth.
