Working On Black Friday?

Anyone else get to work all day while everyone else gets to watch College Football or knock ppl out so they can get a $100 laptop, i'm only doing it so i get an extra 8 hrs of vacation, ya buddy 😎

Wife will be shopping with the daughter in law... I'll either be out hunting, else working in the garage.

I shoot Santa photos at the local mall every season. Santa arrives Black Friday at 10am and the madness begins.

I'm confused why people get it off. It's not a holiday.. I'm working, and I don't get vacation time or OT either.

i usually go in. no one else is there so you can basically shop all you want online anyway. might take off this year to sleep in for 4 days straight.

doesn't make sense that they schedule Thanksgiving on Thursday every year either but oh well, i work in a call center so it's usually dead anyway

I work warehousing. This year it sounds like we actually are NOT working on Black Friday...though we did for the last two years.

Doesn't mean I'm going shopping or watching college football or whatever bullshit.

yeah i'm working. I might go hit a couple stores before going into work.

I like working those days, quiet, and can get lots of work done.

im off friday but working saturday. This is the first time in 13 years I get Thanksgiving, Christmas and New years off

well congrat slew foot, they shouldn't make ya work holidays, that's messed up, glad my employer lets us get our holidays off and surrounding days off early,

yeah? YEAH...?
I never thought about it, but whats thursday got to do with thanksgiving anyway?
Its not like Easter, religion and Sunday.
Thanksgiving should be on a Sunday, or at least on a Saturday.

Want to run for office and be a sure win?
Run on two issues:
Thanksgiving on a weekend, AND no more daylights saving time period!
Now who would vote against that?

must be nice pcgeek, oh well, ya i don't know who came up with the fact that thanksgivint had to be on thursday, like cmon, y not on a friday or the weekend, i mean cmon man

so our work policy is i get 10 days of vacation a year.
i started october last year and when i was told not to show, like black friday, day after xmas, etc, i didnt show

this year im told thats actually taken as a vacation day, im annoyed a little about it.

my boss already said shed give me the extra day this year for another reason so it wont affect mek, if i thought it would i would work. almost nobody will be around so it would just be web surfing all day

apparently even the CFO [on the board] has been lobbying to get that day as a holiday and the rest of the board wont agree.

Typically state and local governments follow the Federal holidays which only provides for Thursday off however school systems and private entities typically choose to stay open either Columbus Day or Veterans Day and make the Friday following Thanksgiving a day off as they realize people are traveling for this holiday.

Unfortunately I have to work because we don't have coverage on the desk as every asshole (i'm looking at you childless fuks) decided they needed the day after off.
