I have two HDDs that were working perfectly well, and on transferring from one PC into another (each drive went into a different new PC), one shows up in the Windows 2000 MMC as "dynamic" and "unreadable", where in the other PC, the other drive shows up as "Missing" (the MMC knows it's there, and recognizes the size, but can't read data).
The original PC was running Win2k, as are the two new PCs, and the filesystems are both NTFS, unencrypted.
According to the MMC, the one that lists as "unreadable" can be "reverted to basic disk", but that will lose the data on the drive. This is a last resort.
On the other PC, according to the MMC, the "missing" drive can be "reactivated", but if I try I get an error stating the drive cannot be located.
In both cases, the BIOS correctly recognizes the drives, and the jumper settings are correct (I will doublecheck this). On the "missing" drive, this is not a cable issue.
Any thoughts?
