Working Hard Drive won't show in old PC

I just got a new hard drive, so I put my 60gb Western Digital into an old PC I had laying around. The old PC is a Pentium II, 333. I wanted to use the primary IDE channel as master, but when I turned on the computer, the BIOS wouldn't detect a drive. I tried every combination of slave and master, on both channels, using multiple cables, and the computer just wouldn't recognize the drive.

When it goes to recognize the drive, it sits their for a while, like a couple minutes, then finally says 'none". There are no other hard drives for this computer, but the PC will detect a cdrom and tape backup that happen to be sitting in there.

Anyone have any idea why the BIOS wouldn't recognize the hard drive. I put it back in my primary desktop and confirmed that the drive still works.
