I am working 19 hours a day between two jobs. The first one ends at 3PM. The second one starts at 5PM and ends at 1AM. I have a 30 minute drive home and have to be up no later than 5AM.

The question is:

Does anyone have ANY advise on how to stay awake?? :Q

I haven't pulled anything this crazy since college! This is only a 2 month stint but man could I use suggestions. Thanks!

if you fall asleep at the wheel you're screwed....... drink coffee and smack yourself in the face with ice cold water

What he said.

Jolt Cola is also your friend when you can't take more coffee. Americano and Espresso also help.

Depends on what jobs you have. You could try caffeine pills, and in addition I would sleep as much as I could on the days you don't have to work. That's how I cope with school + work, I have to be up at 6am for school and I get home at 10pm from work... then still have homework after that... so it's like 16-17 hour days. On the weekends I still work but I sleep 12-16 hours per day.

Sleeping all weekend was what I was thinking. And maybe some Yellow Jackets for a late night snack :)

Edited the time, thanks

Dude, you'll only get 4hours of sleep a day, and then you have to get up by 5am. oh man, i don't think i could pull such a stint, unless my job was fairly easy, or involved me sitting behind the desk all day. Your a brave soul. :)

I pulled a routine like this for many years. 4 hours of sleep per night.

Your body will age 20 times faster than normal, trust me. It plays hell on you after awhile, and if done for any length of time, you will die by the time you are 50

Ha, newbie.

I've been doing this for four (4) years now. I get up at 0530, have to be at job #1 by 0715. Work until 1630-1700 (depends on when I finish-up) Then I go straight to job #2. I get out of job #2 anywhere from 1000 - 2400, depending on how busy we are.

I work job #2 three days a week, sometimes 4 or 5 depending on how broke I am. :( To top it off, I'm old. Trust me, 33 is OLD when you beat up your body when you were younger and are now beating it up in other ways, i.e. a second job.

On the days that I work both jobs, I get 3 - 4 hours of sleep a night. I drink 3-4 cups of coffee between 0700 - 1030, eat a huge lunch and usually have a sandwhich when I get home from job #2.

The only thing that keeps me alive is the mulitivitamin I take every day w/lunch. That and the occasional sex I get from my GF. (j/k...it's actually weekly....TMI)

Now, suck it up and stop whining; you have work to do!!!! ;) :)

Hahahah! See, I've had this problem ever since I was young; I have Champagne taste and a beer pocket. I like to try to live large on a budget.

I have found out the hard way that as you get older, you never really stop playing with toys; they just get progressively more expensive.

Example: Lego--->GI Joe--->Chemistry Set--->Electronic Projects Kit--->Dirtbike--->Motorcycle--->Women--->Car--->Better looking women--->Better looking car, to get--->Awesome looking women--->PC Hardware (heheheh)--->Lear Jet

I'm still working on that last one, though.

Feh, I like my toys; at least I'm willing to work for them though. Have a nice day. :)

they are both desk jobs...in the computer field.

so they most taxing work will be mental.

I think a 15 minute "power nap" in the middle of each shift is a necessity. Otherwise, 9 out of 10 people would be a zombie on both jobs. How you limit it to 15 minutes is the only challenge.
