Working for UPS

So how many here are brave and man enough to work for ups? The start out process of unloading and loading stuff really works your body hard which is why theres a big turnover rate for UPS. Every single day theres somebody @ college trying to get students to sign up for jobs (yes everyday.. now that tells you something!) with UPS. Anyways has anyone worked for them? Did you quit early.. or did you like the job and keep it.. i mean the benefits are great if you ask me!

$8.50-$9.50/Hr. to Start
Weekends Off!

Same thing down here with Target Distribution, they have a very high turnover rate, but I hear the pay and benefits are really good, hmmmm I dunno.

I have a few friends that work there. The pay is good. Most become supervisors after a few months. The benifits are really great, and it keeps you in shape. Theres a UPS warehouse right around the corner from me, so lots of kids in my town work there. Ive heard good things about it.

It really depends where they put you, but the benefits are excellent thanks to the unions. I was there for about 3 years.

they even have tuition assistance programs if you work in one of the main distributing centers

Yep, thats one of the biggies they have, but its hard work to actually keep. I mean damn UPS paying for your college tuition

what about the liability

Yeah you can make big bucks but it will be stressful

Yeah it is stressful. I was handling China bound packages worth quite a bit. No room for error.

I used to work at UPS as unloader and driver helper a couple years ago. It was mostly manually labor work/back breaking fast pace.

If you can, get the driver helper job. It is much easier than the unloader. You ride along with the driver and help him deliver packages.
