Working for the man

I worked for small companies full time my first few years out of college and have mainly worked for small companies as long as I have been working. Now I've been working for large company in corporate office type setting for about 5 months and I like it for the most part but some friends who have worked at both prefer working for small companies.

Curious to see what ATOT thinks.

Some of the Pro's of working for larger company so far have been
-When something goes wrong not in my job description I don't have to drop everything and fix the problem
-When I leave work I'm done working so no evening/weekend phone calls or email from the boss
-I actually get paid for the time I work not a BS "salary" so when I come in early or stay late I get time and a half
-Better/cheaper health plan

Some cons
-Schedule is not very flexible
-Work in a small cubicle
-PC is locked down and personal internet usage limited to news/weather/sports (smart from IT perspective but still a bit annoying sometimes b/c my desktop profile resides in a limited amount of space on the server)

Small company all the way. Once a comp is traded on the stock market, they no longer value thier people. It all becomes the numbers. There are a few exceptions, but public comps that still treat the workers well get fewer every year.

I work for a small company and they actually care about their employees. OMG, could it be true? yes, working for a large corporation you are just a worker drone. With a smaller company they tend to care a little more.
