working for fedex ground...

me and some of the guys on my floor saw a flyer about working part time for fedex. heres what it says:

-earn $8.25-$8.75/hr
-tuition assistance after 30 days
-raises at 30 & 90 days

fedex ground needs hard working, higly motivated individuals to sort packages, unload, and load trucks. you must be able to lift 50 lbs and be at least 18 years old. the following shifts are available M-F:

early morning: 3am-8am
evening: 5pm-10pm

apply in person from 10-4pm, m-f at: .....(adress here)

doesnt sound like its too bad of a deal, especially if the tuition assistance ends up being a lot. does anybody have experience in working for them or know anything about this tuition assistance thingy? my job now requires me to do at least 3 midnight to 6 am shifts a week, which makes it really hard to get enough sleep, so this does sound good....im just looking for some input

i did that but for UPS. it will keep you in shape. the tuition assistance is nice as well. just make sure you want a job that makes you work hard, physically

My friend Eugene did it for a while when he moved to New Orleans. He did not really like it much and said it was hard work. He also said that he did not like the fact he was working such odd hours. Of course he is not in college and was doing that to support himself.

what kind of tuition assistance did they give you?

That's not a lot of money for a second/third shift job. Still if you need a job, why not apply and try it out for a while.
