Hi guys, any CHDK/Canon user have some ideas for me on a workflow to handle RAW files? Typically I just shoot, then plug the camera in and let XP help me move the images to a hard-drive folder, and from there I perform additional steps.
I installed CHDK last night to play around with it, and would like to save RAW files for some images. However the XP camera wizard doesn't recognize and move them. When I look at the camera in Explorer I see the files and can copy them over, but in that case they end up on disk with their original names, whereas the pictures moved by the XP wizard have been renamed, breaking the link that dng4ps2 uses to grab exif data when converting from .crw to .dng.
All this can be dealt with, but somewhat more cumbersomely than my existing workflow. So I wondered if anyone else had evolved some good steps for dealing with the multiple file types on the camera.
Also I saw an anomaly where I shot two pictures, which should have resulted in 2 JPGs and 2 RAW files on the card. When I look at the camera in Explorer it shows me 1 JPG and 3 RAW files, two of which are duplicates of each other, and one of which disappears when I use the XP wizard to move and delete the JPGs, so it's almost as if that file is really a JPG but is showing up in Explorer with the wrong name for some reason.
