Yeah, it looks tacky.

I think simple edging like this
would work better, and put more flowers/ornamentals in the beds.


The poured concrete border looks tons better than the plastic stuff (which I threw away). To each is own, I guess! 🙂

just did my garage last 3 weekends

I did get $5 7-8 foot trees from Sam's club on newcircle planted but not that much though.
 
Nice work ... I've got to get to work on our yard some, but it is naturally beautiful ... just needs some tending and trimming
 
Good choice going with Cyprus mulch. It's all I use and I think it looks so much better than bark, cedar or any of the red mulches. Inexpensive as well. Looks good. I do my annual landscaping touch-ups every April and I'm glad it's behind me. Much better when it's all done and you can just admire it.
